Bicentennial Park Master Plan
The city of Darwin recognised the need to update the Bicentennial Park master plan that was prepared in 1999, to ensure its relevance to an evolving city needing to cater for a population growth in the city’s core. Bicentennial Park is considered the ‘green jewel’ of the Darwin CBD and is located on the elevated fringe, overlooking the Arafura Sea.
The revised master plan provided recommendations to enhance the experiences and multi-functional use of the park through a 10 year strategic plan of capital works projects, with the preserving of its natural and cultural heritage at the core of the decision making process.
