Bagot Road is the major arterial connecting Darwin City to the airport and the northern suburbs. A master plan was developed to establish a landscape character through staged upgrade works that is distinctly reflective of the dry tropics.

Planning of off road cycleways, large shade trees in wide verges, mass planted medians and a public art installations at major nodes were proposed to improve the overall arrival experience from the airport into the city.
