Tiger Brennan Drive is 7.5km major arterial road connecting the City of Palmerston to Darwin CBD which has undergone a number of staged upgrades and extensions. A Landscape Urban Design Framework and Public Art Strategy was developed to guide the decision-making process and ultimate design outcomes for all the stages.

Working closely with local Larrakia people, the Public Art Strategy adopted the idea of representing the six locally recognised seasons at nominated nodal points to help create a ‘gateway’ journey into Darwin. Based on extensive local knowledge, cost efficient and sustainable landscape treatments were specified which included the use of broadscale seeding of locally occurring species.
