The upgrade of Katherine High School grounds was prioritised around ‘de-cluttering’ and providing attractive and functional outdoor spaces.

The existing outdoor areas had poor pedestrian circulation and surveillance. There were few areas for the students and staff to sit and play.

The design intent was to simplify the spaces, open up views and utilise the healthy established trees to maximise the shade.

The result is a robust, easy to maintain outdoor learning area that has a variety of spaces for learning, play and socialisation.
